Viewing for John Wayne Moore, age 85 years, 5 months and 6 days, a lifelong Atoka resident, were held at from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at the Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Moore passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Oklahoma City.
He was born on Wednesday, July 10, 1935, to Allen Davis and Lillie Pauline (Stephens) Moore, at Wilson.
Moore attended Atoka Public School
He married Violet Maybelle Penick and later married Louise Stone.
Moore was a horse and tack trader, plowed gardens with horses, worked in service stations on Court and Mississippi Streets, and was one of the best horse doctors in the county.
He was a christian and held services at his home for several years. Moore loved trading horses, selling tack, was talented at rebuilding saddles, and loved to coon hunt.
Survivors include his children, Billy Moore and wife, Sheryl, of Haileyville; Ronnie Moore and wife, Tammy, of Atoka; Wyannette Bell and husband, Chance, of Centerpoint; ex-wife, Louise Lunsford Moore of Guthrie; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Allen and Lillie Moore; wife, Violet Maybelle Moore; son, Richard Moore; brothers Richard, Walter, Red and Monk; sisters, Ida, Myrtle, Della, Cordy and Annie.
