Funeral services for Samuel Wayne McGinty, age 67, a Lane resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Pastor Paul Jhant officiating.
Interment was in Green Meadows Cemetery, at Atoka.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
McGinty passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Atoka.
He was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1953, to Samuel and Betty Jo (McClain) McGinty, at Salem, Oregon.
McGinty graduated from Atoka High School.
He proudly served his country in the Army for 20 years and also served in the Air Force.
McGinty was a Canine Operations Sergeant for the Mack Alford Correctional Center.
He loved to spend time outdoors, shooting guns and hunting. McGinty also enjoyed motorcycles and he always had a soft place in his heart for all animals.
Survivors include his daughter, Robin McGinty of Lane; son, Sam McGinty and wife, Joanna, of Harker Heights, Texas; granddaughter, Lanah McGinty of Harker Heights, Texas; brother, Freddy McGinty of Atoka; nephew, Cody McGinty and family of Atoka; niece, Kelly Perez and family of Colbert; the mother of his children, Susan Clevenger of Leander, Texas; along with many other loved ones.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Samuel and Betty Jo (McClain) McGinty; nephew, Clinton McGinty; and brother, Kenneth McGinty.
