Funeral services for Tomas Lee Fonville, age 75 years, 10 months and 26 days, a longtime Stringtown resident, since 1983, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Brother Joey Lansdale officiating.
Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, at Stringtown.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Fonville passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020, at his home, in Stringtown.
He was born on Thursday, January 25, 1945, to Tomas Jackson Fonville and Rosie Bell Holt, in Cotton County.
Fonville attended school in California.
He married Carole Louise (Ferkins) on Tuesday, August 11, 1965, at Clovis, California. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2018. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before her passing.
Fonville worked for a produce company in California, where he worked in transportation.
He occasionally attended Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church. Fonville enjoyed ranching, cattle, horses, buying and trading old cars, traveling back to California and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Douglas Fonville and wife, Katrina, of Sioux City, Iowa; Brenda Robidoux and husband, Rick, of Gloucester, Virginia; Thomas Fonville and wife, Brenda, of Fresno, California; Kevin Fonville and wife, Donna, of Stringtown; grandchildren, Lisa Petz; Erin Brown and wife, Melanie; Kevin Fonville; Doug Fonville; Breanna Lamphere; Gracie Stohl; Stoney Fry; Bo Fry; Shani Riggins; Thomas Fonville and wife, Mariah; Nicholas Fonville and wife, Heather; Pamela Georgian; Cythia McNees; Ocean Fonville; Cole Fonville; Cody Fonville; Jackie Hightower and Ginny Davis; great-grandchildren, Draven, Lucas, Andru, Alex, Karly, Jeremy, Noah, Nate, Journey, Jenna, Jenessa, Dominic, Maci, Landon, Lincoln, Oaklyn, Natalie, Able, Oliver, Trevor, Bentley, Kemper, Trenton, Zoey, Sophie, Jude, Riley, Joplin, Reagan, Kelsey, Shajen and Blake; siblings, Wilma Jo Magby of Stringtown; Frank Verduzco and wife, Glenna, of Benton City, Washington; Robert Verduzco and wife, Jamila, of Clovis, California; Billy Verduzco, Dale Alvarado and Shirley Newsom, all of Clovis, California; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Tomas Jackson Fonville and Rosie Bell (Holt) Verduzco; wife, Carole Fonville; grandson, Mason McNees; brothers, Leon Fonville, Ricky Larry Hop Fonville, Raymond Verduzco, Harvey Jackson Fonville and Serafin Verduzco Junior; brother-in-law, Joe Newsom.
Pallbearers were Stoney Fry, Bo Fry, Thomas “Zac” Fonville, Nicholas Fonville, Cole Fonville, Cody Fonville, Kevin Fonville and Douglas Fonville.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
