Graveside services for Wylie Levon Loyd, age 82, a lifetime Summerfield resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Mt. Olive Cemetery, in Stringtown, with Johnny Elrod officiating.
Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, at Stringtown.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Loyd passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, in Atoka.
He was born on Sunday, May 1, 1938, to Christopher and Ruby Joan (Jones) Loyd, at Pauls Valley.
Loyd graduated from LeFlore High School.
He married Bertha Louise (Box), on Monday, March 26, 1962, at Leflore.
Loyd was a supervisor for parks and recreation.
He was of the Non Denominational faith. Loyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, wood working, anything that involved being outdoors, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Louise Loyd of the home, in Stringtown; daughters, Valinda Elrod and husband, Jerry, of Stringtown; Alice Curry and husband, John, of Stringtown; grandchildren, Tammy Dodd and husband, Cheyenne, of Stringtown; JW Elrod and wife, Mary, of Stringtown; Jared Elrod and wife, Deidre, of Stringtown; Sharina Curry and Jason Fullingim of Antlers; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Dodd, Colton Dodd, Kaci Elrod, Raylee Elrod, Jasper Elrod, Judd Elrod, Jolyn Elrod and Daigen Fullingim; brothers, Curtis Loyd and Johnny Loyd, both of Summerfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Christopher and Ruby Joan (Jones) Loyd; first wife, Phyllis (Brown) Loyd; son, Preston Loyd; siblings, Marion Loyd, Floy M. Campbell, Kenneth Loyd, William Loyd, Naomi Hollan and Ezra Loyd.
Pallbearers were Jason Fullingim, Steven McElroy, Steven Huett, TJ Huett, Richard Box and Cheyenne Dodd.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
