Bertha Ann (Myers) Starnes, age 83, a former Farris resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Bethany Center.
She was born on January 20, 1937, to Henry and Maggie Gladys (Reece) Myers, at Miller. Starnes lived and grew up in Farris.
Starnes was a stay-at-home mother, raising her three children.
She married Samuel Starnes and moved to California, in 1956.
Starnes enjoyed sewing, quilting, and was a wonderful cook, making the best homemade candies and cake. She was witty, funny, and enjoyed people. Starnes had the most beautiful blue eyes. She loved and cared for her family and gave her all to them.
Survivors include her son, Franklin E. Starnes and wife, Cheryl Lynn M. (Ehresman), of Windsor, Connecticut; daughter, Patricia Ann (Starnes) Chilton of Antioch, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Jeanine Marie (Starnes) Colon and her spouse, Jerry Enrique, of Enfield, Connecticut; Ashley Lynn Starnes of Ellington, Connecticut; and her great-grandson, Travie Enrique Colon; sisters Ruby Pearl (Myers) Mixon and her spouse, William, of Atoka; Bonny May (Myers) Hamm of Farris; and brother Ronnie Lee and his spouse, Sandra (Chavez) Myers; and many nieces, nephews.
Preceding her in death were her spouse, Samuel Starnes; son, Samuel Earl Starnes; and brothers, James Henry, William Dale, Donnie Gale and Johnny Ray Myers.
