Funeral services for Connie Jo (Powell) Kammerer, age 71 years, 4 months and 9 days, a longtime Atoka resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Brother Shane Hamilton officiating.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Kammerer passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Durant.
She was born on Monday, August 29, 1949, to Russell and Betty Jo (Black) Powell, at Perryton, Texas.
Kammerer graduated from Perryton High School, in Perryton, Texas, in 1967.
She married Barney Kammerer, in 2006, at Atoka. They enjoyed 14 years of marriage before her passing.
Kammerer was a housewife and homemaker.
She was a member of Blackjack Baptist Church. Kammerer enjoyed crocheting, reading, was active in her children’s sporting activities and loved to travel.
Survivors include her husband, Barney Kammerer of the home, in Atoka; sons, Russell Fincher and Anthony Fincher, both of Atoka; stepson, Selby Appleton of Chickasha; grandchildren, Stoney Parker of Lehigh; Tori Parker Woods and husband, John, of Coalgate; Geryn Appleton of Chickasha; great-grandchildren, Charlee Woods and Jayce Woods, both of Coalgate; brothers, John Powell and wife, Anna, of Texas; and Tyson Powell of Idaho; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Russell and Betty Jo (Black) Powell; and a daughter, Shawna Parker.
