Graveside services for Dan “Corky” Lane Stubblefield, age 78 years, 6 months and 1 day, a longtime Lane resident for the last 20 years, were held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Rosehill Cemetery, in Chickasha, with Brother Tony Rubio officiating.
Interment was in Rosehill Cemetery, at Chickasha.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Stubblefield passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Calera.
He was born on Sunday, June 28, 1942, to J. W. “Bill” and Mary Edith (Jones) Stubblefield, at Vernon, Texas.
Stubblefield was reared in Burkburnett, Texas, and lived a few years in Mustang.
He attended Burkburnett School, in Texas and Randlett School, in Oklahoma.
Stubblefield was a truck driver for over 20 years for International Products, Hoffman Pipe and Steel, South Canadian Tank and worked the last 20 years as a ranch hand for the Sheffield brothers.
He served in the Oklahoma National Guard in the Combat Engineers.
Stubblefield was a member of the Lane Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, hunting, especially coon and deer hunting, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include his brother, Don Stubblefield and wife, Barbara, of Tuttle; sister, Pat Davis and husband, Tim, of Pattonville, Texas; very special friends, Doyle, Jack and Larry Sheffield and their families; Jack Allen Walker of Lane and Justin Daniel of Lane; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bill and Mary Edith Stubblefield; two stepfathers, Oren Argo and George Taylor; and a sister, Carolyn Merone.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Sheffield, Robert Foran, Larry Sheffield, Doyle Sheffield, Jerry Stephens, J. T. Sain, Sunday School Class, Ronald Coyle, Charles Robertson, Arthur Crews and Jess Goodson.
Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
