Funeral services for Isacc Brian Moreland, age 52 years, an Atoka resident, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Pastor Chris McDaniel officiating.
Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery, at Atoka.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Moreland passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Plano, Texas.
He was born on Monday, March 25, 1968, to IB and Connie Sue (Allen) Moreland, at McAlester.
Moreland graduated from Atoka High School then attended Deluth University, Rochester University and received a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
He proudly served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard and then transferred to the Minnesota National Guard.
Moreland worked for his cousin, Robert Powell, at Town and Country Market in high school. He then moved to Minnesota and worked for McNeilus Manufacturing, building concrete trucks and fabricating stages and also for Wengen Corporation. Moreland then came back to Atoka and worked for Ethan Allen furniture. For the last 5 to 6 years, he worked for the Choctaw Nation teaching students Native Choctaw pottery.
He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, in Atoka. Moreland was an avid outdoorsman, loved planting, gardening, hunting, fishing, transplanting trees and swimming. Moreland was an artist and antique collector.
Survivors include his parents, IB and Connie Sue (Allen) Moreland of Atoka; brother, Benjamin Moreland of Atoka; sister, Angela Horn and husband, Jamison, of Harrah; nieces and nephews, Dawson Moreland, Dessie Mae Moreland, Shelby Cordell Horn, Alexander Blake Horn and William Jamison Horn; aunts, Barbara Fite and Elsie Moreland, both of Atoka; Peggy Hutson of Daisy; Mattie Bell Veazy of Atoka; Lou Ann Hand of Kingston; uncles, Douglas Allen and wife, Sue, of Atoka; Warren Moreland of California; George William Moreland of Atoka; Charles Moreland and wife, Barbara, of Atoka; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Ralph Moreland, Dessie Moreland, Kenneth Allen and Helen Allen; uncles, Kenny Allen, Ralph Moreland, Jr., Henry Moreland, Bob Byzick, Preston Fite and Walter Anderson; aunt, Helen Anderson.
Pallbearers are Robert Powell, Jr., Jared Allen, Eric Manion, Adam Manion, Dawson Moreland and Dennis Powell.
Honorary pallbearers are Uncle Charles Moreland, Uncle Billy “George” Moreland, Robert Powell, Kevin Manion, James Smith and Ryan Ritter.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
