Satterfield passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at his home, in Caddo.
He was born on January 2, 1939, to Bert Allen Satterfield and Opal Mae Manus, at Gladewater, Texas. Satterfield was the second born of five brothers.
Satterfield was a self made man and a very hard worker. He worked most of his life at the Van Gas Propane Company. It was during this time that Satterfield had met and married his first wife, Connie Brasher, of Orange County, California, and they had a daughter, Cheryl Rene. Van Gas was sold to Suburban Propane and it was there that Satterfield won numerous awards for “Salesman of the Year,” “Most Productive Branch,” and “Branch of the Year.”
Satterfield loved to garden and always had a bountiful harvest, which he would share with family and friends. He could fix and build anything; if he didn’t know how, he would reverse engineer the project making it better than it was before. Satterfield was also a big joker and no one young or old was safe from his pranks. Each and every family member and friend have story after story of a prank they had fell victim to.
He took a small hiatus from his job at Van Gas and moved his family back to Texas. It was there that he married his second wife, Myrna Watson, of Pocatello, Idaho, and they had a son, Gregory.
Satterfield finished out his career with Suburban Propane, in Washington State.
In 2009, he lost his second wife, Myrna Watson and later married Wanda Ridgeway. He was a member of the Voca Baptist Church, in Caddo.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Satterfield of Caddo; brother, Steven of Durant; daughter, Cheryl Satterfield Herdman; son, Greg Satterfield; stepdaughters, Terry Clark; Sheri Smith; and Debbie Sainati; thirteen grandkids and twenty three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bert and Opal Satterfield; brothers, Donald, Carlos and William (Bill); his first wife, Connie (Brasher) Satterfield and his second wife, Myrna (Watson) Satterfield.
