Funeral services for Samuel Jack Rose, age 54 years, 11 months and 19 days, a lifelong Caney resident, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the Midway Church, in Caney, with the Reverend Sam Vaughan officiating.
Interment will be in the Stewart Gammon Cemetery, at Caney.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Rose passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Durant.
He was born on Saturday, January 22, 1966, to Jackie and Shirley (Hunt) Rose, at Durant.
Rose graduated from Caney High School, in 1984, where he played basketball with the Caney Cougars.
He was a carpenter and worked in construction, in the Dallas area and worked for Fincher’s Construction building steel buildings.
Rose was a member of the Midway Church, in Caney. He enjoyed sports, any outdoor activity, spending time with the grandchildren and attending church activities. Rose was a Pittsburg Steeler fan.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley (Hunt) Dykes of Caney; children, Brittany Rose of Atoka; Stoney Rose and Alex Rose, both of Caney; grandchildren, Danika Rose and Corbin Rose, both of Caney; mother of his children, Kim Fincher and husband, Shawn, of Caney; brother, Mick Rose and wife, Anita, of Caney; sister, Annette Watson and husband, Ronnie, of Caney; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Jackie Rose and a niece, Kayla Watson.
Pallbearers are Brad Cooper, Shelby Childers, Shawn Fincher, David Cantrell, Ed Woods and Billy Shane Fincher.
Family night will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
