Funeral services for Ima Jean (Miller) Taylor, age 89, a Caney resident, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, in Caney, with the Reverend Dennis Taylor and the Reverend Claudie Alford officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, at Caddo.
Services are under the direction of Gordon Funeral Home, 221 N. 3rd, in Durant.
Taylor passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021.
She was born on Wednesday, April 9, 1931, to Cecil Oro and Ora Elisa (Livingston) Miller, at Waukomis.
Taylor and her husband lived and raised their family in the Caney and Caddo areas.
She married James Taylor, on May 20, 1950, in Quanah, Texas.
Taylor enjoyed reading and was good at sewing. She loved spending time with her family. Taylor was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Taylor of the home; sons, Dennis Taylor and wife, Janet, of Okmulgee; Randy Taylor and wife, Mary Jo, of Durant; Mark Taylor and wife, Pam, of Wilburton; daughter, Cherryl McGuire and husband, Jim, of Edmond; sister, Eudene Steen of Glenburn, North Dakota; brothers, Carl Miller of Shawnee and Jackie Miller of Kingfisher; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren as well as other nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Cecil Oro and Ora Elisa (Livingston) Miller and a brother, J. T. Miller.
Pallbearers are David Taylor, Michael Taylor, Jeremy Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Travis Garrett, Collin Anderson and Joel McGuire.
