Funeral services for Marlene June (Hartman) Carroll, age 85, an Atoka resident, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Brother Wendell Ingram and Brother Calvin Carroll officiating.
Interment was in Wards Chapel Cemetery, at Atoka.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Carroll passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Atoka.
She was born on Sunday, April 21, 1935, to S. J. and Malinda “Iris” (Dodds) Hartman, at Oklahoma City.
Carroll graduated from the Choctaw High School.
She married Roland Ray Carroll on Saturday, September 1, 1951, at Midwest City.
Carroll worked in the mail room at Oklahoma University Medical Center, in Oklahoma City, before moving to Atoka and becoming a full time house wife, babysitter of all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, peace maker and the strong brace that held the family together.
She was a long time member of the Penn and A Church of Christ. Carroll loved to go bowling, take care of the ranch and love on all the grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Raylene Buren and husband, Steve, of Piedmont; Glenn Carroll and wife, Connie, of Atoka; Malinda Calvert and husband, Robert, of Atoka; Marleta Hardman and husband, Dan, of Atoka; grandchildren, Steven Arp of Atoka; Malissa Wilson and husband, Anthony, of Atoka; Raygan Calvert and special friend, Ashley, of Atoka; Mindy Cochran and husband, Clay, of Newcastle; Maygan Butler and husband, Stacy, of Atoka; Walker Carroll and wife, Mindy, of Atoka; Amy Bolin and husband, Brandon, of Atoka; Amanda Sattre and husband, William, of Piedmont; Calvin Carroll and wife, Kelli, of Atoka; Cindy Foran and husband, Trevor, of Atoka; Stoni Peck and husband, Bryan, of Atoka; Joseph Carroll of Atoka; Kelly Hardman and wife, Donna, of Atoka; Karl Hardman and wife, Michelle, of Atoka; Kisa Castleberry and husband, Scott, of Atoka; 30 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, S. J. and Malinda “Iris” (Dodds) Hartman; husband, Ray Carroll; siblings, Orby Hartman, Jay Dee Hartman and Oleta Dukes; nephews, Terry Dukes and Jeff Dukes.
Pallbearers were great-grandsons, Zachary Ty Calvert, Cade Carroll, Cam Carroll, Bryce Butler, Clancey Foran, Dinney Foran, Cale Peck, Lane Sattre, Mason Cochran, Milo Cochran, Will McCall, Andrew McCall and Wade McCall.
Honorary pallbearers were Harold Scott, Brett Brandford, Russell Fugate, Jerry Cartwright, Dan Hardman, Pete Jones and Haley Saunders; great-granddaughters, Cassandra Gregory, Rachel Wilson, Allyson Butler, Delaney Wilson, Brooklyn Peck, Myranda Sattre, Larae Bolin and Halle Jo Peck.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
