Funeral services for Audrey Virginia (Moore) Sanders, age 80 years, a lifelong Atoka County resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Brother Dennis Powell and Buddy Sanders officiating.
Interment was in Bera Cemetery, at Atoka.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Sanders passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, in Plano, Texas.
She was born on Tuesday, September 24, 1940, to Charlie Chester and Julia (Sewell) Moore, at Bentley.
Sanders attended Bentley Public School and later received her GED.
She married Charles “Bud” Irvin Sanders, Jr. on Tuesday, April 12, 1955, at Durant.
Sanders owned and operated The Head Shed. She also worked at the Sander’s Cafe, in Atoka, raised dogs and was a breeder.
She was a member of the General Assembly and Church of The First Born. Sanders loved her dogs, flowers and gardening. She loved being a “Nanny” most of all.
Survivors include her children, Telena Sanders of Atoka; Buddy Sanders and wife, Annis, of Atoka; Deborah Doern and husband, John, of Kingston; Cynthia Paula Jack and husband, Kenny, of Stringtown; Cloye Don Sanders and wife, Tammie, of Lane; grandchildren, Steven Don Murray of Atoka; Stacey Lanette Webster and husband, David, of Bentley; Johna Kay Smasal and husband, David, of Tulsa; Audrey Michelle DeLay and husband, Kevin, of Tulsa; Tara Marie Sanders of Atoka; Charles Irvin Sanders, IV of Atoka; Charles Sammy Carroll and wife, Lyndsay, of Atoka; Matthew Paul Jack of Naples, Florida; Audrey Marie Morris and husband, Lucas, of Atoka; Cloye Don Sanders, Jr. and wife, Emily, of Tushka; Callie Mariea Kay Gambrell and husband, Rodrick, of Silo; brother, Lacey Moore and wife, Susie, of Stringtown; very special sister, Ester Henderson of Bentley; along with numerous great grandchildren, great great grandson, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Charlie Chester and Julia (Sewell) Moore; husband, Charles “Bud” Irvin Sanders, Jr.; grandsons, Dyllan Ross Sanders and Jacob Ty Murray; sisters, Vera Marrow, Earline Holley and Amy Baugh; brothers, Roy Dillard Moore and Clyde Willard Moore; special friend, Artie B. Powell.
Pallbearers were Steven Don Murray, Sammy Carroll, Matthew Jack, Cloye Don Sanders, Jr., Waylon Webster and J. D. Webster.
Honorary pallbearers were Conner James Sanders, Bentley Gambrell, Dyllan Ross Sanders, Lacey Moore, Charles Irvin Sanders, IV.
The family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
