Funeral services for James David Barton, age 65 years, 1 month and 14 days, a lifelong Atoka resident, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Brother Bartt Bradford officiating.
Interment was in Green Meadows Cemetery, at Atoka.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Barton passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at his home, in Atoka, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on Wednesday, April 4, 1956, to Lloyd James and Dolores Kathleen (Henson) Barton, at Coalgate.
Barton graduated from Atoka High School.
He was engaged to Toni Brown.
Barton was president of Henson Propane, a certified welder, and also a rancher.
He was of the Baptist faith. Barton enjoyed riding motorcycles, counting cattle, collecting and tinkering with old cars, hunting and fishing and most of all loved hanging out with his grandsons.
Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Fincher and husband, Mack, of Caddo; Matt James and wife, Charlie, of Atoka; fiance, Toni Brown of Atoka; grandsons, Rawlins Fincher of Caddo; Ty James and Baker James, both of Atoka; sister, Karen Henderson and husband, Ronnie, of Atoka; nieces and nephews, Angie Hodge and husband, Brian of Caddo; Crystal Meurer of Tushka; Brandie Humphrey and husband, Zack of Edmond; and Jessica Smith of Farris; along with numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear and loved friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lloyd James and Dolores Kathleen (Henson) Barton; grandparents, Frank and Fannie Henson; Glenn and Frankie Barton.
Pallbearers were Randy Hutson, Jerrall Northrip, Scott Cochran, Glenn Burnett, Matt James and Ronnie Henderson.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Klaus, Dianna Lansdale, Rickey Cox, Kevin Harris and Mike Thomas.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
