Funeral services for Vernon Lee Chastain, Jr., age 53 years and one month, a Bethany resident, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Coalgate.
Interment will be in Lehigh Cemetery, at Lehigh.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Coalgate.
Chastain passed away on May 2, 2021, in Oklahoma City.
He was born on April 2, 1968, to Vernon Lee Chastain, Sr. and Marilyn Anne (Horn) Wigley, at Hawthorne, California.
Chastain graduated from Coalgate High School.
He married Julie Dawn (Holt) Beckley.
Chastain was a foreman for Townsco Construction Company building roads.
He loved being in the outdoors especially going camping. Chastain enjoyed working. He loved his mother and cherished time spent with her and all the family.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Dawn (Holt) Beckley of Bethany; children, Brett Lee Martin and wife, Sarah, of Denver, Colorado; Felisha Canarsky and husband, Kalib, of Lead Hill, Arkansas; Tommy Martin of Indianola; Carolyn Johnson of Crystal; Jaci Chastain of Bethany; mother, Annie Wigley of Coalgate; grandchildren, Tracy Martin and Kasey Canarsky; sister, Karen Abshire and husband, Jason, of Coalgate; step brothers, Eric Wigley and wife, Amy; and Chris Wigley, all of Stratford, and Jason McKinney of Pittsburg.
Preceding him in death were his father, Vernon Lee Chastain, Sr. and step brother, Arnie McKinney.
Pallbearers are Shannon Hedgecock, Willie Hansand, Donovan Cagle, Shannon Cagle and Arnem Hunt.
Honorary pallbearers are Roger Linam and Joey Horn.
