An Oklahoma State Trooper arrested a Texas man on Wednesday after a traffic stop for speeding led to the discovery of approximately 35 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.
According to a police report from Trooper Trent Mixon, he was traveling south on US Highway 69 when he observed a white vehicle going 12 MPH over the speed limit. Trooper Mixon initiated a traffic stop near Wesley Rd.
Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Michael Jones, Trooper Mixon immediately detected the strong odor of raw marijuana. When asked, Jones admitted that he had been around marijuana and that there might be a 'small amount for personal use' in his bag.
