An individual was arrested on Saturday night after an Atoka Police lieutenant discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle during a traffic stop.
According to a police report from Lt. Jimmy Taylor, he observed a white fourdoor car improperly stopped in a turn lane at the intersection of Highway 69 and 9th Street. After activating his emergency lights, the driver, identified as Sherry Cook, pulled over near 3rd and Highway 69.
Upon making contact with Cook, Lt. Taylor detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Cook denied having any marijuana in the car. Based on the smell, Lt. Taylor conducted a search of the vehicle.
