The Class B #3 Caney Lady Cougars fast pitch softball team went 4-0 at their own tournament (Sept. 11-13) to claim the teams' first Caney Fall Classic Championship.
To open the tournament on Sept. 11, Caney defeated Tupelo 9-1 then defeated Class B #5 Soper 9-8 in extra innings on a walk off hit by Brooklyn Barnes to score Kaigan Ladd which propelled the Lady Cougars to the semi-finals.
Up next for Caney was Class B #6 Stuart, where the Lady Cougars came out victorious 8-1 and in a low scoring affair, Caney took a 3-0 win in the championship game over Soper on Sept. 13.
