The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association announced district playoff assignments on Sept. 12. The assignments are for Class A and B fast pitch softball and fall baseball. Only one school in Atoka County was selected to host a district tournament -Class B #3 Caney fast pitch softball.
Fast Pitch Class A and B district tournaments are scheduled to be played Sept. 25-26. Caney will play at home against Milburn while Class B Stringtown will travel to play Kiowa. Both district tournaments are double elimination with the winner advancing to the Class B Regional Tournament scheduled for Oct. 2-4.
Fall Baseball Class A and B district tournaments are scheduled to be played Sept. 25-26. Both Class B Atoka County fall baseball teams will be playing on the road. Caney will play in a district tournament with Big Pasture at Mill Creek. Stringtown will play in a four-team district with Milburn and Achille at Coleman. The winner of each district tournament will advance to a regional tournament scheduled for Oct. 2-4 Due to Atoka being Class 3A in fast pitch and Tushka being Class 2A in both fast pitch and fall baseball, their playoff assignments have not been released.
