An Atoka Police Officer arrested a man on Sunday night on suspicion of driving under the influence after a single-motorcycle wreck on Highway 69.
At approximately 7:50 p.m. on August 31, Officer Christian Shomo responded to a report of a motorcycle accident near 3rd Street. Upon arrival, he observed the driver, later identified as Larry Walker, attempting to start his motorcycle and drive away.
Officer Shomo approached Walker and instructed him to turn off the motorcycle. Walker had difficulty operating the ignition key, missing several times before finally turning off the engine. When Walker removed his helmet, the officer observed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery.
