Atoka football (1-6) looks to rebound this week against a 0-7 Spiro Bulldogs team at home on Friday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Although not a must win, the Wampus Cats will likely need a win against Spiro in order to keep pace with the other teams in the Class 2A District 4 playoff race.
Four teams from each district will advance to the playoffs after week 10. Atoka is currently in a three-way tie with Morris and Antlers for fifth place at 1-3 in district play. The fourth place Henryetta Knights are 2-2 in district play. Henryetta will travel to Atoka in week 10 (Nov. 7) in the regular season finale.
Atoka suffered a 60-23 home loss to Valliant on Oct. 16 in the team's annual Thursday night fall break game.
