A multi-county vehicle pursuit, that began in Texas and crossed into Oklahoma, was brought to a decisive and nonlethal end after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Trooper executed a successful tactical maneuver on Highway 69.
The pursuit began in Grayson County, Texas, and continued into Oklahoma, where Bryan County units and Durant Police Department (DPD) took over. At approximately 5:52 AM, OHP Trooper Trent Mixon was notified that the black Nissan SUV, driven by an individual threatening self-harm, was entering Atoka County.
Trooper Mixon intercepted the pursuit near Tushka. After receiving a direct request for assistance from DPD units pursuing the vehicle at speeds of 75-85 MPH, Mixon acted quickly, performing the TVI maneuver after being asked to intervene. The pursuit ended near the intersection of Highway 69 and Shady Lane.
