Excitement is in the Air for Caney Girls Basketball

The Caney Lady Cougars are excited to get the 2025-2026 season underway on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Mill Creek at 6 p.m. Last season was about building a culture under a first time head coach (Jessica Crites) and growing as the team had no seniors. During the 2024-2025 season, Crites led Caney to a 12-15 record and one regional win.

Although all 5 starters returned, Crites stated that no spot is guaranteed and could change each game based on the matchup. The program received a boost in competitive depth after two athletes transferred this summer and are expected to play a huge factor in this year's success.

'I told my girls on the first day of practice that with 11 players, I feel like we can play everybody. That I could run 5 players then sub 5 more players in. I feel like all of my players will be utilized,' Crites said.
