Caney Boys Looking to Improve Every Day

First year head coach Jace Hollingshed is looking forward to coaching the Caney Cougars this season. He replaced James Pannell who went 12-15 in his only season as the head coach. Caney won one regional tournament game a season ago.

Garrett Green returns as the assistant coach, which played a huge factor this preseason as Hollingshed was new to the area. Hollingshed stated that Green has been at Caney for a long time and played a vital role in getting to know the athletes not only on the basketball court but about their lives outside of basketball.

'We will run a continuity motion offense trying to get our good players with opportunities to score defensively. We want to get up and pressure people to really force them to make plays, instead of just sitting back,' Hollingshed said.
