Traffic Stop Nets Suspect with $24K in Outstanding Warrants

What started as a latenight traffic stop for a simple turn signal violation quickly uncovered a major legal issue for an Atoka driver with over $24,000 in outstanding felony warrants.

On October 22, 2025, at approximately 1:00 AM, Patrolman Grady Blackwood of the Atoka Police Department observed a gray Mazda fail to signal prior to a turn and noted a defective tag light. The vehicle was stopped near South Mississippi Avenue and East 13th Street.

The driver, identified as Atoka resident Shannon Gregory Davis, immediately informed Patrolman Blackwood that his driver's license was suspended.
