Lady Tigers Look to Build from Last Season’s Success

The Class 2A Tushka Lady Tigers are hopeful for a deep playoff run this season as they bring back 4 starters from last season’s 17-9 team that fell one game shy of the area tournament. Leading the helm for the Lady Tigers is 11-year head coach Lori Ford, while Trevor Cook will be a first year assistant coach with the team.

Although the team brings back starting experience, Tushka will be relatively young this season with 4 seniors, 1 junior, 3 sophomores and 5 freshmen. Ford stated that despite the young team, she expects every athlete to contribute. As a whole, the team has quickness, shooters and some height according to Ford.

This summer the Lady Tigers were down one of their seniors that started last season, which forced the younger athletes to grow up and fill the void. It was a work in progress this summer but after it was all said and done, Ford was pleased with how the team used their summer.
