At the State Capitol in Oklahoma City, the artwork and artifacts are cared for by the Oklahoma Arts Council and the 'Friends of the Capitol.' 'Friends of the Capitol' is a non-governmental organization of volunteers and benefactors who give their time and money to help the State of Oklahoma.
While the Oklahoma legislature provides funding, it is not always sufficient to fund all required activities and maintenance related to maintaining the artwork and treasurers enshrined at the Capitol.
Thus, the Arts Council and 'Friends of the Capitol' have developed a program by which citizens can help in honoring our veterans and Oklahoma Heroes. On sale now are 15-inch X 15inch square pavers that can bear the name of anyone you want to honor. Several Oklahoma Medal of Honor recipients have pavers that were donated by individual sponsors and the Cherokee Nation.
