Fatal Collision in Johnston County Leaves Two Dead, One Injured

Two Ada residents died Thursday evening in a multi-vehicle collision on State Highway 48, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

The collision involved three vehicles and occurred at approximately 7:25 PM on November 13, 2025, near the intersection of OK-48 and OK-48A.

A vehicle, driven by Donald E. Bridgman, 87, of Ada, was traveling northbound on OK-48 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle rapidly approached another northbound vehicle, driven by Jesse A. Dewberry, 30, of Wapanucka. Bridgman swerved left to avoid hitting Dewberry but struck the rear driver-side bumper before continuing left of center. Bridgman then struck a commercial vehicle driven by Samuel Githongo, 54, of McKinney, Texas, traveling southbound, in a head-on collision.
