City Managers Report

The long awaited “Another 48 Hours in Atoka” music celebration in downtown Atoka was enjoyed by all attendees. It wound up being a beautiful day, weather wise, getting a little cooler that evening. There were several other events scheduled for that same day in neighboring communities, but the event still had a good turnout.

ODOT’s traffic signal realignment and upgrade project through town is almost complete. Although originally scheduled for mid-October, the timeline was extended due to delays involving turn lane modifications, signal upgrades and ADA-compliant sidewalk improvements. The final phase, intersection striping, is currently underway. Once striping is complete, the project will undergo final inspection by ODOT Traffic Engineers and an ADA Compliance Inspector. No additional lane closures are anticipated in connection with this upgrade project.

On November 3, 2025, I attended the monthly Oklahoma Municipal League’s board meeting. As always, we had a very good meeting, going over numerous topics. Since I’m not only a board member, but a member of the executive committee, as well as the bylaws and policy committee, it was a very busy day.
