Did you know that Americans are holding an estimated $60-$90 in coins per household, most of it in pennies and pennies are going away. So, here is what you can do with yours. Since the US is ceasing penny production, you can exchange your pennies for cash at banks or credit unions.

You can bring your pennies to a bank, credit union, or one of the coincounting machines like Coinstar to exchange them for cash. Some grocery stores also have these coin-counting machines. Coinstar offers cash, gift cards, or donation options. While most pennies are only worth their face value, some rare ones may be worth more to collectors. If you have a collection, it's worth researching to see if any are valuable. And even though penny production is ending, you can still spend the pennies you already have; they are still considered legal tender.
