A high-speed pursuit that originated in Pittsburg County concluded early Monday morning in Atoka, resulting in the apprehension of two juvenile who had escaped from a group home in Sallisaw.
The incident began just after 4:00 AM on November 3, 2025, when the Atoka Police Department was advised of a southbound pursuit requiring assistance. Officers from the Atoka Police Department, the Atoka County Sheriff’s Office, and Kiowa PD coordinated to stop the fleeing vehicle.
During the pursuit, the vehicle, a gray four-door Saturn Ion, displayed dangerous behavior. Reports over the law enforcement radio indicated the driver was traveling at speeds over 100 MPH, passing other vehicles and a semi-truck in the center median. An officer also reported the suspect attempting to evade detection by turning the vehicle's lights off and on.
