Gerald Monte, with his wife, Susan, and OHCE members, Carla Stephens and Vicki Densmore, was presented with a quilt during the Stringtown Veteran’s Day celebration. Submitted photo.

Well, we THOUGHT we were getting some cooler weather. Beth even wore long sleeves a few days. But Saturday was 80°! Can you believe it? Might need your A/C again! And Ray and Beth covered their unit for winter! Oh well...

Holidays for this week include: November 20th: National Peanut Butter Fudge Day, International Hug a Runner Day, Name Your PC Day, and National Absurdity Day November 21st: Gingerbread Day, World Hello Day, National Stuffing Day, and False Confession Day (Jokingly admitting to a wild adventure that never happened, just to keep friends laughing and the mystery alive.)

November 22nd: National Cranberry Relish Day, Go for a Ride Day (car, bike, Segway, unicycle, kayak, horse, tractor...), and National Stop the Violence Day During Stringtown’s Veteran's Day celebration, a beautiful patriotic quilt was presented to Purple Heart recipient, Gerald Monte, at Stringtown’s Veteran's Day Program by Atoka County’s Oklahoma Home Community Education (OHCE) group. Gerald Monte is a retired United States Army National Guard Major with over 23 years of military service that includes a combat tour in Afghanistan from 2003-2004.
