A man is facing misdemeanor charges after allegedly assaulting his partner and preventing her from calling 911 during an incident on a recent date.
The incident occurred when the victim returned home to find Lonnie Walton, the father of her children, consuming alcohol. When the victim asked Walton to leave the residence, he became belligerent due to his intoxicated state and allegedly struck her on the left side of her face with his fist. The victim attempted to call 911, but Walton allegedly interrupted the attempt by trying to take her phone.
At that moment, a minor entered the living room and intervened, pushing Walton away from the victim. This decisive action allowed the victim to run down the road and successfully contact emergency services.
