The spirit of the season was on full display this past Saturday, December 20, as the town of Caney hosted its annual Christmas parade. Unlike many years that require heavy coats and blankets, this year’s festivities were marked by unseasonably lovely weather, allowing families to enjoy the event comfortably.
While it was a classic, small-town parade, the turnout reflected a deep sense of community support. The streets were lined with spectators as a variety of entries made their way through town, including festive floats presented by local churches and an energetic walking group. It wouldn't be a hometown celebration without the participation of local police and firefighters, who led the way and greeted the crowds.
The highlight for many in attendance was the grand finale, as the Caney Fire Department provided a special lift for Santa Claus to make his way through the heart of town. The event served as a wonderful reminder of the tightknit spirit that defines the Caney community during the holiday season.
