In an effort to bolster local emergency response capabilities, Kiamichi Tech of Atoka has announced a series of free training opportunities specifically designed for volunteer firefighters.
The courses aim to provide hands-on experience and essential skills for both new recruits and veteran members of area departments with 80 hours of training availble.
The training schedule kicks off in early January, focusing heavily on wildland firefighting, a critical skill set for the rural terrain of Atoka County. Instructors will be Paddy Metcalf and Sandra Blay.
