Oh, it is time for gripes about the time change again...do you go back or forward one hour?.. in the spring (March) you “spring forward”… in the fall (November) you “fall back”…Doesn’t that mean I lose one hour of sleep?...not if you set your clock forward/ backward about 2:00 in the afternoon and go to bed at your usual clock-time, it helps some.
Didn’t Congress vote to stop using Daylight Savings Time? No because 17 states, including Oklahoma, have passed laws for permanent Daylight-Saving Time (DST). Oklahoma is waiting for Congress to pass federal legislation to allow us to make the switch. We will have the regular on and off again schedule until the legislation is passed in Washington.
For those who don’t like DST, I assume you do not feed and hay cattle and other farm animals in the dark during the winter (Standard Time). After my dad retired we all had to go out to Daisy after dark one Saturday to identify a couple of cows he didn’t recognize in the daylight. Farmers and Ranchers and just regular gardeners and yard keepers starting their spring cleanup and planting can actually have an extra hour to see what they are doing after DST goes into effect. And I am sure you all like to eat.
