Lane Public School recently celebrated Reading Across America Week with a week full of guest readers, themed dress-up days, and activities designed to encourage students to develop a love for reading.

The celebration brought together students, teachers, and members of the community as local leaders and alumni visited classrooms to read with students and share their enthusiasm for books. Each day also featured a themed dress-up activity to help make reading fun and engaging for students of all ages.

The week began Monday with the theme “Books Knock Our Socks Off,” where students wore their craziest socks to school. The guest reader for the day was Marci Bond, an Atoka native who has dedicated much of her career to serving her community and state.
