Hello Atoka! Before I get too far into this, let me remind everyone that this coming Saturday, March 21st, we will be having our monthly Veteran's Breakfast and we hope you will attend and partake of not only a hot and delicious breakfast but also participate in good fellowship with our local citizens to share stories, good times, and play 'catch-up' with each other. We also have other items to talk about, and I will now go int this.
We had our monthly veterans meeting this past Thursday and many different points of discussion were brought up. First, in addition to our veteran's breakfast, the local law enforcement of Atoka County will be having a Police Meat Challenge in which five different law enforcement entities will compete with one another to determine who makes the best cooked chicken.
This competition will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude at 3:00 p.m. This will take place at the Veteran's Building and will consist of Chicken, potato salad, beans, bread, and dessert for the price of ten dollars per plate and if you have children, they can elect to have a hot dog in place of chicken.
