Federal Jury Convicts McAlester Resident of Four Counts of Sexual Abuse in Indian Country

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced today that Jeffrey Brent Thomas, age 48, of McAlester, Oklahoma, was found guilty by a federal jury of three counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse in Indian Country, punishable by 30 years to life in prison and a $250,000 fine, and one count of Abusive Sexual Contact in Indian Country, punishable by up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The jury trial began with testimony on March 9, 2026, and concluded on March 10, 2026, with the guilty verdicts.

During the trial, the United States presented evidence that between January 1, 2020, and January 16, 2021, Thomas sexually abused a child who was under the age of 12 years. The United States also presented evidence that Thomas sexually abused two other minor children.
