Despite the threat of severe weather, Chief Gary Batton and community members gathered indoors March 6th to celebrate a major housing milestone for the Choctaw Nation.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official completion of 20 Affordable Rental Homes (ARH) and nine Independent Elderly (IE) homes designed to serve Choctaw families and elders in the Atoka area.
“Housing continues to be a priority for the Choctaw Nation,” Chief Batton stated. “These projects represent real opportunities for families and elders to have safe, quality places to call home.”
