A collision on State Highway 3 has resulted in two counts of felony DUI involving great bodily injury following an investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The incident began just after midnight on March 13, 2025, when Trooper Josh Harrington responded to a motor vehicle crash west of Atoka. Upon arrival, troopers identified the driver as Cassie Halford, who was being treated in an ambulance for her injuries before being airlifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
According to the official report, Halford initially denied being involved in a crash, stating she was on her way home from a local bar. Trooper Harrington noted that Halford’s speech was thick and slurred, and he observed a strong odor of alcohol. After Halford agreed to a field sobriety check of her eyes, the trooper observed six out of six clues indicating impairment.
