The Caney Cougars won the Spring Cougar Classic Consolation Championship on their home field with a 5-3 win over Class A1 No. 20 Rock Creek on March 28. After starting the tournament 1-1, the Cougars won three consecutive games.

Caney scores: Caney 4 Achille 3, Calera 12 Caney 0, Caney 10 Haworth 0, Caney 11 Milburn 1 and Caney 5 Rock Creek 3.

In the opening round on March 26, Caney was tied with Achille entering the bottom of the seventh inning. To lead off for the Cougars, Zayne Bagby hit a double, and Enicio Cataldo's sacrifice bunt moved Bagby to third base. Nate Kendrick was intentionally walked and Trever Armstrong hit a hard ground ball to first base for a walk-off single to score Bagby.
