The Atoka City Council met in a regular session today to address a range of high-impact contracts, from utility rate increases to the acquisition of a new industrial-scale playground and a significant upgrade to police technology.
Five-Year Waste Services Agreement Projects Rate Increase
The Council voted to enter into a new five-year agreement with Republic Services (Allied Waste Systems, Inc.), effective July 1, 2026. This follows Republic’s decision not to exercise its two-year extension option under the previous contract due to surging equipment and labor costs.
