Swerving Vehicle Leads to DUI Arrest

An Atoka man was taken into custody early Friday morning, March 27, after a traffic stop on Highway 69/75 led to an arrest for driving under the influence.

Officer Cheyenne Gilbert of the Atoka Police Department reported observing a silver Pontiac GGT swerving and crossing lane lines while traveling southbound at approximately 1:04 a.m. After initiating a traffic stop near Howard’s Body Shop, the officer identified the driver as Cainen Littrell.

According to the police affidavit, Littrell was unable to provide a physical driver’s license or proof of insurance. Officer Gilbert noted a strong odor of alcohol and observed that Littrell had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. Littrell reportedly admitted to consuming 'two tall boys' prior to driving.
