An Atoka County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a 49-yearold man for driving under the influence late Thursday night, March 26, after observing a vehicle traveling with mechanical failures on Oklahoma State Highway 7.
Deputy J.D. Mixon reported spotting a white Ford Ranger traveling westbound at approximately 10:20 p.m. with no functioning taillights or tag lights. According to the sheriff's affidavit, the driver, later identified as Kirk Allen Webster, was traveling at a very slow rate of speed and appeared to be struggling to keep the vehicle straight on the roadway.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop using emergency lights and sirens, noting that Webster continued to drive for a stretch before eventually pulling onto the shoulder east of Timberline Road. When approached, Webster was unable to provide a driver’s license or proof of insurance.
