What began as a routine traffic stop for inoperable trailer lights on Monday night, March 23, resulted in the arrest of two individuals on various drug-related charges.
Deputy Matthew Clay of the Atoka County Sheriff’s Office initiated the stop on a maroon pickup truck hauling a trailer near State Highway 109A and Thomlinson Road. The driver, identified as David Mobbs, admitted to the deputy that his license was currently suspended.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a search of Mobbs’ person following his arrest for driving under suspension revealed a clear plastic baggie in his wallet containing a substance that later field-tested positive for fentanyl.
