Local residents gathered at the Dam Store at McGee Creek Lake on Saturday, April 11, for an afternoon of community fun and friendly competition at the 'Dam Dog Showdown.'

The event drew a packed crowd of supporters and newcomers. While the hot dog eating contest was the main attraction, the grounds were filled with activities for the whole family. Kids enjoyed a bounce house and a popular foam cannon sponsored by local election candidates, while others spent the afternoon playing cornhole.

The competition featured three divisions, with participants from across the area testing their appetites. Justin Hunter of Lane secured the overall title in the Adult category by finishing 12 hot dogs.
