Pursuit of Wire Theft Suspects Ends on Bare Rims

A local business owner’s quick action led to the apprehension of two men on April 17, 2026, following an alleged theft and a pursuit that ended with a suspect vehicle driving on its metal wheel.

Randy Sutterfield Jr. faces misdemeanor counts of malicious injury to property and petit larceny in Atoka County District Court. A second occupant of the vehicle, Jacob Abell, was also taken into custody during the incident.

The investigation began around 8:27 a.m. when Waylon Henderson, owner of Henderson Heating and Air, reported witnessing two men using bolt cutters to sever service wires from a power pole.
