Teams Claim District Championship on Home Field
The Lady Cougars won a Class A Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association at home on April 23 with two shut-out victories over Bray-Doyle, 16-0 and 14-0. Class A #1 Caney will compete in a Class A Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association Regional Tournament on Wednesday, April 29 at Caney. The Lady Cougars will face unranked Varnum at noon to open the tournament, then #8 Stuart will face #9 Wilson (Henryetta) to conclude the first round at 1:15 p.m. The winners of round 1 will play at 2:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to state while the losers of the first round will play at 3:45 p.m. The final game will be between the loser of the winner's bracket game versus the winner of the loser's bracket game at 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to state.
