In a town the size of Lane, the search for a hot meal usually meant a trip out of town. For Tammy Crow and her husband, owners of the nearby Crow’s Nest, the lack of local dining wasn't just a business observation, it was a daily reality.
'There was no place in Lane to eat,' Tammy explained. 'When we wanted to eat, we had to go to Atoka or Antlers. There just wasn't anywhere to go.'
After eight years of running their local bar and hearing neighbors express that same hunger, the Crows decided to bridge the gap themselves. They fired up the smokers and established a dedicated, stationary smokestack that finally gives Lane a seat at the table.
